Description:
If you’re like most people then there’s a good chance that every day you snap more than a few pictures while you’re out and about. What are you taking pictures of? It really depends on where you are and what you are doing. If social media is anything to go by then it looks like a lot of people are content snapping selfies to post online. That said, we also love taking pictures of cars, nature scenes and friends and family. Yes, thanks to ever improving camera and smartphone technology, taking pictures anywhere, anytime is becoming less and less of a problem.
Occasionally, amongst all the selfies, group shots and attempts at being artistic, there can be the odd gem of a picture which teases our minds and makes us look twice. For whatever reason, in certain pictures a number of factors just seem to align properly to create one of the oddest, funniest or most interesting images. What we’re talking about is, of course, accidental optical illusions. Sure we’ve seen our share of staged illusions – like the millions of shots of people trying to hold the sun – but sometimes the raw and unstaged illusion can make for a really interesting image. These following images are all examples of optical illusions captured largely by coincidence. Giants, mutants, strange babies and warped scenery are just some of the scenes captured by accident.
